The production of wines covered by the Appellation of Origin Tarragona will be made exclusively with the following varieties of Vitis Vinifera:

 It is believed to originate from either Greece or Asia Minor, and was introduced into Europe early on. The plants have low igour, low production and are sensitive to illness.The bunch is medium sized and not too compact. The fruit is sensitive to rot; it's small and round, with a reddish colour when ripe. It produces an interesting must, dense and with special aromatics. It covers a range of wines from dry to very sweet. The wines are acidic, aromatic and full bodied, ranging in colour rom a greeny-yellow to deep gold. |
