The production of wines covered by the Appellation of Origin Tarragona will be made exclusively with the following varieties of Vitis Vinifera:

Parellada forms the basis for cava prduction together with Macabeo and Xarel·lo. The grapes ripen late in the season, it is very productive, good quality and sensitive to plagues and drought.
The bunches are medium to large sized and compact. The grapes are medium sized, golden-green colour and have a hard skin.
The wines are pale coloured with delicate floral aromas on the nose. Both acidity and alcohol content (9-10º) are low. Light bodied, ideal for consumption in their youth. |
