The production of wines covered by the Appellation of Origin Tarragona will be made exclusively with the following varieties of Vitis Vinifera:

 Sumoll is an austere variety, that grows evenly and is resistant to drought.The bunch is long, with oval berries, although there are variants with rounder berries known as ull de perdiu, or "partridge's eye". All can be used for winemaking although each has slightly different characteristics. Sumoll tends to have low alcoholic content and is a reasonably productive plant. |
